Ozobots

Ozobots are an engaging way to teach coding to students. The tiny robots are coded using color. Students will need markers for the activity in library skills.

Kindergarten will be reading Bob and Joss Get Lost by Peter McCleery. Their challenge will be to code their Ozobot around Ozo Island using color.

1st grade will be reading The Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss. Their challenge will be to find the words that rhyme with -at and code them to make their Ozobot do tricks.
We will do these activities February 25, 26, & March 1.

Read Across America

Read Across America will be celebrated the first week in March. This year we will be promoting a variety of books including diverse books that provide both windows and mirrors for our readers. Readers who feel included, recognized, and a part of the world are engaged readers. Use the link below to find a book to share with your class each day of the week. The links will bring you to collections from our library.  You will also find links to Pebble Go to further research some of the topics.

The board below has digital books for each day.

A helpful resource to use when researching books is teachingbooks.net. Some of the things you can use this site for are to gather information about books and authors, to find lesson ideas, and to make book lists. If you want to learn more about this site see Mrs. Sager.

Tanner's Winner

The Golden Archer winner at Tanner is King Baby by Kate Beaton.  The state winner will be announced in early March.

Wisconsin Golden Archer

The Wisconsin Golden Archer is a kids' choice award. The students nominate the books and vote for the winner.  Tanner students will be voting in library skills.

Tanner Kindness Project

The library has  a Stick Together poster that the whole school will create together. It is a collaborative, community-building activity with a beautiful reward. When expectations are followed and kindness is shown students will get stickers to add to the poster.

Sticking together one kindness at a time.

There is also a digital Stick Together on the February Choice Board
