We have many magazines available for checkout in the library including:

In the April 2022 edition of National Geographic Kids there are many articles about Conservation. Check it out.

Book Tournament

We have been reading many of the books in the Book Tournament to get ready for voting. When we read How to Catch a Unicorn by Adam Wallace we did and activity with Ozobots. The students were challenged to get the unicorn (Ozobot) to the zoo using color coding. Kindergarten used colored lines and 1st grade used color codes to make the Ozobot do tricks.



The next rotation students will be voting in the Book Tournament.

Library News

Ideas to celebrate Tuesday 2/22/2022

Click on the picture below for 22 second challenges. You will have to have some math and writing materials to complete all of the challenges. 1-4 are math challenges, 5-8 are movement challenges, and 9-11 are miscellaneous challenges. The last link is to David Wiesner's book Tuesday. This book is a fantasy wordless picture book that has won the Caldecott award. On a full moon Tuesday a bunch of frogs rise from a pond on their lily pads and float through the air exploring while the inhabitants sleep.

Explore the link below to celebrate reading with diverse titles. Read Across America Week is February 28-March 4.

Tanner Book Tournament

With March Madness approaching, we are getting ready for the Tanner Elementary Book Tournament. The titles chosen are some that have been the most circulated or are popular new books. Voting will start March 3. Besides engaging the students in reading their votes will also be used to nominate books for next year's Golden Archer competition.

Golden Archer Winner at Tanner

 The Golden Archer is a kids' choice award in Wisconsin. Tanner students voted and the winner is Llama Destroyed the World by Jonathan Stutzman and illustrated by Heather Fox. The votes will be sent to the state and the winner will be announced March 8, 2022.

Golden Archer

The Wisconsin Golden Archer is a kids' choice award. The students nominate the books and vote for the winner.  Tanner students will be voting in library skills.

Students can learn about the books on the February Choice Board.
