Library News

 Library Skills

The students in kindergarten and 1st grade will need headphones for the February 23rd rotaion. We have been learning about award winning books (Caldecott and Golden Archer), authors and illustrators, fiction and non-fiction (informational), and library location.

Presently we have been reading the Golden Archer books.  This is the best award in my view because it is a kids' choice award. It is only the kids in Wisconsin that nominate the books and then vote on the winner. We will be voting during the next rotation of skills. Our votes will be counted with all the students in Wisconsin and the winning book will be announced in March.

I like the selection of books this year as there are both fiction and non-fiction. From the reaction of the students I would say the Who Would Win? book is a favorite. The books are linked above.

Read Across America Week

The week of February 27 is Read Across America Week. We have dress up days planned with a book for each theme.
The books are linked above or check them out from the library.  Also watch for a special delivery from the library during Read Across America Week.
