So many exciting things are happening in the library. The most noticeable is that we moved the teaching area and therefore the students will have a new seating chart.
The spotlight books are near the red hallway door and highlight Award Winning Books. This is the theme of the lessons in Library Skills. The Youth Media Awards will be announced on Monday January 25th. Our students will be voting on the book they think should win the Caldecott Medal. Voting will take place the week of January 19th.
Martin Luther King Jr Day is Monday January 19th and students can find digital resources on the January Choice Board and find books that are displayed on the shelf by the windows.
You will notice that the January Choice Board has many digital resources including Martin Luther King, Jr, winter books, Caldecott books, inauguration resources, winter animals, and other interactive resources.
1st Grade is working on a Solar System unit and will be using VR Goggles for an "Outer Space" fieldtrip. They can also use the Space Choice Board for other resources.
Mrs Newton's class is learning about sharks and will go on an "Underwater" fieldtrip with VR Goggles and can use the Underwater Choice Board for other resources.
New books are displayed on the triangle cart. If you have books you want to see in the library, let me know.
Other book resources include eBooks and audiobooks in Sora. They can be accessed through Destiny or through Sora directly. If you would like me to work with your class, I can assist in getting students logged in which will allow them to read and listen to books.
Students will not need supplies for the next rotation of Library Skills classes. Watch the signs in the windows of the library.
